Happy Halloween

This is some of what I have been working on....

This is the other important sewing project that I have been working on in between... well, in between what I have been working on...

I really had nothing to do with Caitrin's ice skating costume becuase I am too much of a chicken to try to sew knits without a serger, but we did manage to make creative use of a Quilt Show Ribbon.

Hope everyone had a happy Halloween!

And the Winner Is

Sequana!  She commented, "Oh, I love them all, but Quilt C would actually be made. *S*  What lovely fabrics in this collection. Thx for the giveaway."

Robert Kaufman should be contacting her shortly.

Thanks so much to all of you who left comments. I am so glad you like my first collection for Robert Kaufman and wish I had a ten square to give out to each of you.

Your local shop should be able to get this fabric from Robert Kaufman. (I have some fun quilts that use this fabric that are going to be featured in magazines, so stay tuned!)

After you have made your wonderful creations, please post them on the Ambrosia Flickr Group - I'd love to see what you make! (And if any of you make any photo albums, bags, or Yo-Yo Pillows in any fabric, please post them to my Patterns Group.) I'm also considering selling some fabric packs via my website - maybe 1/2 yard cuts - but first I have some sewing to finish up first!

Yesterday I shipped Ambrosia Bear to Market. She was made from a pattern from Dreamspinners called "...and the Three Bears". I think we will name her Flora.

She would have just been a lumpy, less-than-plump mess had it not been for the labors of my Ironer-turned-Bear-Stuffer, who does not enjoy stuffing bears, but who does so willingly because I do her laundry and drive her to ballet. Thanks Ironer-turned-Bear-Stuffer!  Incidentally, the flower fastened to Flora's neck is her inspiration.

And last, but definitely not least, a big thanks to Jaybird Quilts for organizing the Ambrosia Ten Square give-away.  Thank, Julie!

Have a good week, everyone!

A Closer Look

I've been meaning to post scans of the Swiss Chocolate fabrics so that you could have a closer look.

Get the flash player here: http://www.adobe.com/flashplayer

I can't wait to see what you all make with Swiss Chocolate!

Speaking of making things, now that Ambrosia is shipping I would love to see what you all choose to create with my fabric. I'm always amazed at what sewers come up with. I've set up an Ambrosia Flickr group. Please head on over and upload your creations!

To Market, to Market, to buy... Swiss Chocolate!

I fedexed a box of goodies to Robert Kaufman this afternoon.  Unlike some of the other things I have been working on, these I can show right away!  Late last night I finished sewing on the hanging sleeve for my Swiss Chocolate complimentary quilt design for Robert Kaufman...

Quilted by Kay Giese, it uses a ten square and roll-up.  Directions will be available here or at your local shop when the fabric ships in February 2010.

And because I am a design geek, I have to include this photo - I love how the light through the porch rails interacted with th fabrics...

I also made up some Yo-Yo Pillows in Chocolate and Mocha.  (Thank you. yo-yo slave, for the forty yo-yos.)

It's a free pattern that works great with fabric scraps.  Enjoy!

Have a lovely week!

I'd love to show you more but...

I can't.  We'll just have to wait until spring.

I am making friends with my local fedex store.

I'm very excited because today I am cutting into my blue and tan "Mocha" color story today for another quilt. What fun! Don't you love seeing how fabrics come together in unexpected ways?

These photo albums are for display at Quilt Market.  You can find the free pattern here.

And I have a quilt for Robert Kaufman at Market sitting on my floor looking mournfully up at me in its unbound state.  It uses a Swiss Chocolate ten square and roll-up and you will be able to download the pattern here or get it at your local shop. I will post pictures next week.  See you then and have a great weekend!

Introducing Swiss Chocolate

I'd like to introduce my second collection for Robert Kaufman.

It will ship to stores in late February 2011, and comes in two delicious flavors. Chocolate...

And mocha...

I love these fabrics, because the colors are so rich and easy to live with. Right now I am awash with advance yardage, whipping up all sorts of goodies.

Because I am crazy, I am attempting to sew 6 quilts in 4 weeks, so posting may be at a minimum. Once we all emerge from the chaos, I will show you more....
