Holiday Bouquet Sampler and Holiday Wreaths Pillow in Quilts and More

Guess what Quilts and More dropped off at my Market booth?

I'm excited to have two projects in this issue - it will be popping up on newsstands in about a week.  The first project is my Holiday Bouquet Sampler done in my line from Blend Fabrics by the same name.

Holiday Bouquet Sampler in Quilts and More's Winter issue

It looks hard but it isn't.  I just used my ornament print and outlined each ornament and stippled in between.  There is a little bit of applique in the center with small yo-yo berries.  The cream print in the applique background can be challenging to find at this point but you can substitute any cream print. (I get multiple emails a day about that print and wish there was more.  I don't see sales reports that show which shops buy which line so your best bet if you are looking for which shop might carry the line in your area is to call the number listed on Blend's site.) Many of the SKUs for this line are sold out but you can still find bolts in shops.

The second project is a Holiday Wreaths pillow.  It coordinates with my Holiday Wreaths quilt in Modern Holiday.

It is really fun to raid your stash for this one...

And thanks so much to all of you who voted for me in Craftsy's Blogger Awards.  I won runner-up in the Embroidery category and am thrilled.  Made my week!

Runner Up in Craftsy's Blogger Awards!

I hope everyone is having a great week and gets to fit in at least a bit of quilting.

Happy sewing!

To Market, to Market..

I'm still binding! But I'm excited about Market... if you will be there stop by and visit me in booth #1505, right across from Anna Griffin/Blend Fabrics.

My new book Color Essentials, will debut this Market and I'll be bringing all of the projects to my Schoolhouse on 4:15 this Friday in Room 362D.  We don't have enough books printed yet to have a book signing this Market but there will be giveaways, both of fabric and a few books, at the Schoolhouse.

I'll have samples of my new collection, Topiary, and a couple of new patterns as well, including a block of the month available in print for the first time!  They will be shipping in a few weeks.

The color printouts make me so happy!

You can also visit a special quilt of mine in Bernina's booth... more on that when I get back.

And thanks to all of you who nominated me for the Embroidery category of Craftsy's Blogger Awards. This blog made it to the finals so if you get a chance I'd so appreciate it if you visited their site to vote.

Vote for me for Craftsy's blogger awards!

Happy sewing!

Holiday Bouquet Table Topper

In the November/December issue of Fons and Porter's Love of Quilting...

My Holiday Bouquet Table Topper.  I've had a couple dozen emails the past few days about where to locate this line of fabric for this pattern.  I do get sales reports of how many yards are sold, but I don't get a list of the shops that place the orders.  Your best bet is to call local stores in your area and see if they stock my lines.  If they don't, please recommend that they start!  Blend Fabrics is a subsidary of Anna Griffin so they might also know the company by that name.  If all else fails you can call Blend's toll free number (855-817-060) and ask them to look up a store in your area that placed an order.

I've also seen the prints at various internet sites, although the cream blender can be hard to find.  If you can't locate it a generic cream blender would work.

The effect of the center medallion was created by fussy-cutting these medallion prints...

And the ornaments were fussy-cut from these prints...

The entire thing was assembled like a layered Dresden-Plate, similar to the way I created the Easter Table Topper for Bernina.

I can't believe the holidays will be upon us in just a couple of months!

Happy sewing!

Where Women Create: Quilters!

I'm so excited because this arrived on my doorstep this morning!

I'm pinching myself - I can't believe I'm in Where Women Create!  I'm only showing some of my spreads here but there are so many articles featuring amazing quilters and studios.  (To be honest, I can't believe I'm in the same book!)

Special thanks to a friend and amazing photographer, Elizabeth Sawyer-Menaker, who came to my studio fixed things up!  She did a wonderful job - thanks Liz.  Look for Where Women Create: Quilters, Their Quilts, Their Studios, and Their Stories in quilt shops and bookstores now.   (And yes, that is a peek of my new collection for Blend Fabrics under the book - more on that soon.)

On another note, if you are enjoying my Elegant Embroidered Quilts class on Craftsy or you just like my blog would you please send in a nomination in the quilting and embroidery categories for me here?  I'd so appreciate it.

Nominate Me!

Happy sewing everyone!
